چکیده

A total of 350 barrows (DNA 200 × 400; initially 13.5 ± 0.02 lb) were used in a 42-d study to evaluate the effects dried fermentation product administered through drinking water on nursery pig growth performance, antibiotic injection frequency, fecal consistency, and Escherichia coli presence. Upon arrival research facility, pigs randomly assigned pens (5 per pen) allotted 1 2 treatments with 35 treatment. Water provided or without lines at 1:128 dilution rate from d 0 14 after weaning. Effects of a yeast-dried milk product in creep and phase-1 nursery diets on growth performance, circulating immunoglobulin A, and fecal microbiota of nursing and nursery pigs1

Four experiments were conducted to evaluate effects of yeast-dried milk (YDM) product in creep and phase-1 nursery diets. In Exp. 1, 24 parity-4 litters were allotted to 3 dietary treatments (8 litters/treatment) including no creep (NC), control creep (CTL), and experimental creep (EC; 10% YDM). Creep diets were fed twice daily from d 7 after birth until weaning (23.6 ± 1.8 d). In Exp. 2, 108 w...

Effects of Irradiation of Spray-dried Blood Meal and Animal Plasma on Nursery Pig Growth Performance

Two trials were conducted to determine the effects of irradiation of spray-dried blood meal and animal plasma on nursery pig growth performance. In Exp. 1, irradiation of spray-dried blood meal resulted in improved ADG and F/G and tended to increase ADFI for the 14 d experiment. The majority of the increase in growth performance occurred during the first week of the trial. In Exp. 2, ADG and AD...

Effects of lactose and yeast-dried milk on growth performance, fecal microbiota, and immune parameters of nursery pigs.

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary lactose alone or in combination with a yeast-dried milk product (50% dried near-dated milk and 50% dried yeast) on growth performance, fecal microbiota, and immune status in nursery pigs (Sus scrofa). A total of 108 pigs (age, 20 ± 1 d; initial BW, 6.07 ± 0.03 kg) were randomly allotted to 18 pens (6 pigs/pen; 6 pens/treatment). Die...

Effect of B-vitamin Supplementation on Nursery Pig Growth Performance

A 35-d growth assay was conducted to determine the effect of added dietary Bvitamins on growth performance of nursery pigs (12.9 lb initial BW). The basal diet (Phase I, 1.5% lysine; Phase II, 1.3% lysine) was formulated to contain no added Bvitamins. The other treatment diets were formed by adding a B-vitamin premix (biotin, folacin, niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, thiamin, B6, and B12) ...

Evaluation of Dietary Electrolyte Balance on Nursery Pig Performance

A total of 2,880 pigs (PIC 327 × L42; initial BW 11.4 lb) were used in a 35-d growth performance trial evaluating the effects of dietary electrolyte balance (dEB) on growth performance of nursery pigs. There were 30 pigs per pen (60 pigs per double-sided feeder) and 12 replications (feeder) per treatment. Pens of pigs were allotted by BW and sex on arrival, and randomly assigned to 1 of 4 dieta...
